More Havana photos

View from Hotel Saratoga roof top

The Capitolio--if it looks familiar, yes it is a copy of the Capitol Building in Washington!

The Floridita, one of Hemingway's favourites for daquiris

The restored interior courtyard of one of the colonial mansions in Old Havana

The beautifully preserved and restored interior of the  Taquechel which is still an operating pharmacy

This building is an incongruous glass and concrete structure built in the 1950s on the site of the old university right in the heart of Old Havana. Rather than tear it down they have put a "wrapper" on it copying the design of the old university and turned it back into a university building.

View into an unrenovated courtyard --note the infil of additional rooms

Another beautiful renovation job--the building,  not me! Note the stained glass at the right. This is "mediopunto", a specialist Cuban colonial buildings
